Suggest Treatment For Obesity In A Hypertensive Patient

I have high BP and high blood sugars. I have been overweight for 25 years. I worked to lose weight an dlost from 267 to 240 over a year ago. I have changed my life style - cutting portions , reducing snacks, reducing sugars and sodas. I recently lost from 240 to 220 from last April to Nov. Over the last 4 weeks , I have lost 8 more pounds. I am seeing no symptoms other than the weight loss. Am I just fortunate or could something else be causing the loss?

Hi,

As per your complain you have problem of obesity. For weight loss do physical exercise under trainer. Take low fatty foods and avoid junk foods. Over weight also cause high blood pressure. If your blood pressure more than normal level then anti-hypertension drug can start under doctor's suggestion. Do a thyroid function test also to check thyroid hormone levels. In hypothyroidism weight gain occurs. Consult a nutritionist for further diet plan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rachana Goswami
