Suggest Treatment For Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Hey, I know this is going to sound silly or like a waste of your time, but there s something I have been told I should really see a doctor about. Ever since I was about 5 I have had a bit of a power obesession. Schemes for world domination, and other just ruthless pursuits of power have been present, even in things as insignificant as a junior achievement mock-society we did in 5th grade. I ve been called manipulative and have been repeatedly asked why I don t seem to care that I am willing to break the rules in pursuit of my goals. And I don t really. breaking the rules, lying, etcetera has never been a problem for me in any topic (not just the goal oriented stuff). i was always told it was just a face, but 17 years later, it still hasn t stopped. I have been told by people that I should talk to someone. Is there something wrong with me?

Hi,

1. Problem with people having/suffering from OCD [obsessive compulsive disorder] is that they are very resistant to treatment, and since signs are mainly related with fear, ideas, thoughts, and images which can be managed with medicine but there will be minimal effect on the Senses which are aggravated with slightest of the stimulus.

2. In Ayurveda, we hold VATA responsible for the said disease (hyperactivity) and since the disease is of mind (where senses are located) thus initially proper eating and sleeping pattern should be advocated and refrain from stimulants like caffeine, spices, and self-assessment is important.

3. Give 'mans mitra vatka' at bed time to calm the mind.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
