i am seeing a neurologist already and am just looking to read about occipital neuralgia. i thought it would be interesting to see what information i might acquite on the internet. thank you for offering your help but all i am going to do now is scan the info on the computer. thanks.

it isn't easy. Local injection or local deadening of the nerves. In theory surgery to loosen up some nerves or disks but in practice it hasn't been very successful.
Nerve pills of most kinds can be helpful like lyrica, gabapentin or amitryptiline.
