esophagitis. She is a cancer survivor.
Yes, the older people get yeast infection easily as the immunity is usually low in such people.
Associated problems like
diabetes, cancer treatment and any infection can cause this.
Hence all the causes that reduce immunity should be found out.
As also the cause for
shortness of breath.
Relevant blood tests, X-ray or
CT scan of chest, Pulmonary function tests and such things that help to pinpoint the cause helps in proper diagnosis and management.
Specific treatment would have already been started for the esophageal yeast infection.
Simply saying old people get this is not sufficient, its cause and management is also needed.
