General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your concern.
PCOD is a condition of difficulty in maturation & rupture of ovarian follicle.
* Usually management of PCOD is with medicines-It includes,
- reduction of body weight,
- stimulation of stimulation of follicular growth & ovulation by CLomiphene citrate 50 mg from 2nd - 5th day of me3nses. The dose can be raised in following months ,after monitoring it's effect by sonographic ovulation study.
- Injection of human chorionic gonadotrophin- in case there is delay in rupture of a full grown follicle ( ? what you call a cyst)
* This regieme is followed for a period of six months, if there is no recovery/+ve response- Laproscopic drilling surgery is done, to relieve the ovarian mass./unruptured follicles which is followed by normal cycle .
Thanks.
