Suggest Treatment For Ovarian Cyst

I previously had a cyst in one of my ovaries earlier this year, but it shrank, so I didn't return to the doctor afterward to follow up. Right now, I have been in pain for at least 1 month. Every day, I feel cramping mostly in my left side, but sometimes on my right side. It almost feels like menstrual cramps most of the time, but sometimes it gets very sharp (like when I previously had the cyst). When I go to the bathroom, I feel cramping pain similar to the pain you'd feel from running (like a stitch in your side). It's not very painful, but it does cause discomfort. When the pain gets bad, it sometimes extends down into my legs and causes a numbness. I oftentimes have diarrhea and loose steels and feel nauseated, but I rarely throw up; it's mostly dry heaves. I do have a history of colon cancer in my family and had a colonoscopy last year and was told it looks like divurticulitis and/or proctitis, but I'm not too confident with the doctor. I rarely menstruate. I had my last child November 2008 and did not have a period until November 2009, and it lasted 3-4 months. I have not had once since. Please help! Is the problem I'm experiencing gynecological in nature, or do I need to see a gastro doctor again?
