General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Blood from the urethra is commonly due to urethral stricture, UTI, bladder infections, prostrate enlargement, kidney stones, etc. You should be concerned. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a urologist. Get urinalysis (R/E and C/S), Imaging tests, CBC and blood workout done.

Your treating doctor may also tell you to do STD tests for detailed study. You will be accordingly treated. Avoid addictions if any. Take plenty of water. Stay away from sex for a couple of days. To ease pain you can take Acetaminophen, one SOS when needed after food.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
