About 3 weeks ago, I woke up to a slight irritation in my throat that I assumed was caused by drainage. It would come and go for about a week. Then I went a few days with no irritaion. Then, I sneezed, and it felt like something in my throat was ripping it had hurt so bad. Immediately following the sneeze the pain was there only when I swallowed throughout the rest of the day and into the next morning. Then there was no pain at all for a few days. Today, I went all day with no pain, sat down to eat dinner and the pain returned when I swallowed my first bite. The difference now is that there is a constant dull pain, and when I swallow, the pain is intense. I have pinpointed the pain to be coming from the right side of my adams apple. When I push my adams apple to the left, I feel the intense pain. I Also feel it if I push straight back on the right side of the adams apple. What could be the cause? Any OVC meds that can help. Aleve has not helped the pain.
