Suggest Treatment For Pain And Numbness In Leg Due To Torn Muscles In Buttock
I have a torn muscle in my buttock. right side. once in a while I get shooting pain down my leg. sometimes numb at calf and ankle. was checked and this was told to me that the muscle is very deep and near sciatic nerve. been two weeks and doesn t seem to getting better.
As per my clinical experience, the pain and numbness involving leg with shooting at calf and ankle indicate underlying nerve compression rather than torn muscle. Following would be best measures to follow for the same: - Local application of heating pad at the excess pain site - Gentle massage with analgesic ointment containing menthol and diclofenac - Postural adaptation for avoiding sudden bending or weight lifting - Assisted physiotherapy (after discussion with your doc) - Control of body weight and sugar, cholesterol - Analgesic and anti inflammatory medicines. Still if you can share your X-ray plates or MRI whatever is available with you, further discussion can be encouraged here.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
