Suggest Treatment For Pain And Numbness In Lower Back
I had an MRI done last week for tremendous pain in my lower lumbar region of my back, my right side and leg, accompanied by tingling numbness. The Mri results read as follows At L4-L5: There is no disc bulge, there is central disc protrusion which indents the ventral thecal sac, and the transiting right and left L5 nerve roots. Mild central canal stenosis. No neuroforamina stenosis. Unremarkable articular facets. What exactly does it mean, and what type of treatment should I expect to have to undergo to fix the pain that I am still experiencing.
I share your concerns. This has been a very common problem nowadays due to changing life style. However let me assure you that your illness is not very serious although it will take time to come to normal. Disc bulge or prolapse is a very difficult situation, you don't have that.
You will require physiotherapy, painkillers and some modifications in life style like regular exercises, no prolonged standing and sitting, improve calcium in your diet by milk and milk products. You need to visit an expert physiotherapist and neurosurgeon.
If you don't find relief, surgery may be required.
I hope my reply will help you. Please write to hcm for more questions. I wish you good health. Kindly rate this reply. Thanks
