Suggest Treatment For Pain And Numbness In The Leg

I have been experiencing leg pain/numbness in my right (outside) leg, from my hip to my knee. I had hernia surgery 2 weeks ago, and thought either having to lay on my back, or awkwardly trying to get up, may have aggravated my back, but it hasn t gotten any better in the 10-12 days. It sometimes feels like a burning sensation, but typically is more numb that anything. I have been taking Ibuprophen at the start of the day and before bed. I am on my last couple of pain pills, which I have dragged out for night time relief.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Pain with burning or numbness are characters of nerve pains (caused by compression at vertebral or disc level or hip.

Hot /cold pack, rest would add to relief. Please get examined by an orthopedic doctor & imaging investigation for back that he advises to get exact cause followed by specific physiotherapy exercises/medication/surgery in some cases.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
