My boyfriend cut his finger at work and the cut was deep and he didn t go to the hospital, his boss at work helped put butterfly bandage then wrapped iy after cleaning it, he tried to clean it today and he said that after the second time of using rubbing alcohol he started to feel numbness and he stopped feeling pain, is that a good thing

Numbness can occur with any trauma due to damage to the nerves. In the vast majority of nerves, the trauma is minor and repairs itself.

If the cut is deep then suturing would have been the better option. This reduces the chance of infection and speeds up healing.

If more than 24 hours have passed, then a suture cannot be done..
Treatment would then consist of: (1)cleaning with an antiseptic at least twice daily
(2)apply a topical antibiotic twice daily after cleaning. This would be available over the counter
