Suggest Treatment For Pain And Swelling In The Right Eye

Over the past week, my right eye is very red inside the lower lash area. The skin under the same eye is swollen and painful to touch. Looks like a very bad case of baggy eyes. The sagging under the eye is approx. 1 and I can feel something puffy there. I ve tried warm compress and cold ice, but it isn t improving. I ve never had problems with allergies in the past. I live in Austin, TX. Thank You

Oncologist 's  Response
Hello,

Treatment of swollen eyelids depends on the underlying cause. Your optometrist or ophthalmologist may prescribe medication or recommend over-the-counter remedies such as eye drops.

If you have photophobia associated with chronic eyelid inflammation, photochromic lenses can help reduce light sensitivity.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Esmeralda Sera, Oncologist
