Suggest Treatment For Pain And Swelling When Diagnosed With Inguinal Hernia

I have an inguinal hernia. Surgery is scheduled for 9/29. I have suddenly developed pain and swelling. An ice pack for about an hour eased the pain and I was able to push the bulge back in (with a pop). The pain is greatly reduced. What can I do to keep it this way for a month?

Hi,

I am of the opinion that you can use a hernia belt for the same. As it is a reducible hernia, you need not worry, not an emergency can easily sit out for a month till surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
