Suggest Treatment For Pain And Tenderness In Left Nipple Area

I woke up yesterday with pain and tenderness in my left nipple area. Doctor at ER found lump. Today, pain is Less severe but, a larger area is affected and is accompanied by warmth. My doctor can t see me until August 5. Should I wait for that appointment?
