Suggest Treatment For Pain And Weakness In The Shoulders, Hips And Thighs
I have pain and weakness in my shoulders, hips, thighs and gluteus area (when sitting). I was diagnosed with hip tendinitis and hip bursitus in July and have completed weeks of physical therapy. I only experienced some improvement when prescribed meloxican. I still have trouble getting up from the floor without pushing against something and now I have pain in my upper arms and shoulders, particularly when reaching above my head. I am particularly stiff when I stand after sitting for any length of time. However, all my blood tests have come back basically normal with little indication of inflammation. I had a brain MRI that came back normal. I have ran all my life and, up until this past May, exercised 5 days a week. Perplexed - no real answers.
Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Long term treatment with NSAID can cause renal damage (Interstitial Nephritis). Instead, take only paracetamol for symptomatic relief of pain. Local glucocorticoid injection.is another option for periarticular disorders of the extremities (bursitis, tendinitis).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Tushar Kanti Biswas,
