Suggest Treatment For Pain Around The Skull

My son has just had a sudden onset pain in his head that felt like a vice around his skull. It lasted for approx 5 mins and eased when I lay him down and calmed his breathing. The pain was debilitating at the time. He has now improved but is aware of an ache. He has visited his GP before about a similar attack and was advised to have an eye test as he could not see any physical problems on examination. He wears glasses but his eyesight has not deteriorated. He's 19 years old, very active and sporty
