Suggest Treatment For Pain Behind The Ears When Suffering From Cough And Cold

I have gone to my PCP after 3 weeks of chest congestion, non-productive cough (although there is phlegm), increased mucus, sinus discomfort, shortness of breath, etc...I tried over the counter expectorants that didn t work..I have not had allergies as an adult. First we are trying a prescription of amoxicillin and albuterol in case it is bronchitis. I am also seeing an allergist/ENT specialist next week to see if have an onset of allergies. One of my concerns is this pain/discomfort I have in my skull behind my ear where the occipital and temportal bones meet. I have looked up and seen that there are transverse sinuses there. Is this a byproduct of all these other symptoms, or do I need to worry about something more serious? Along with it I have some neck stiffness and I can push on that area and feel a sharp pressure that I can not simulate on the right side. I also feel some numbness and tingling in my left shoulder and arm. Ibuprofen seemed to have made these sensations subside for a few hours.
