Suggest Treatment For Pain Between Ankle And Top Of The Foot

I recently fractured the distal end of tibia. (about 2 months ago). I wore the boot for 5 weeks. Recently my ankle has been hurting on the opposite side of the ankle and accross the top of foot. sometimes it feels as though it wants to give way on me. I called my ortho. can t see him for another month. What do I need to do?

Hello,

You need to visit your treating surgeon again as this has to be evaluated again to see if the fracture is healed or not. It usually takes 4-6 weeks to heal a fractured bone, if not this has to be dealt with surgery. For pain management, you can take OTC analgesics round the clock. If you are not getting any relief, visit your doctor asap for pain control and follow-up.
