Suggest Treatment For Pain Between Shoulder Blades

50 year old female. On again, off again pain between shoulder blades, then feel at base of neck up to right jawline. Lasts 10 minutes - sometimes worse than at other times. Can go for months without it, then it happens one or twice per week. Can put my fingers on the right side of my neck where the pain is and apply gentle pressure and can feel something snapping or popping. Have noticed an increase in clearing my throat, too; but don't know if it's related. The pain is scary. I can feel it coming on and when it starts to subside.
