Suggest Treatment For Pain In Eyes

All of a sudden I had a pain in my eye--from no where--like something is stuck in it. I keep flushing it with saline solution, but the feeling is still there! Could the cause be pink eye, although I have no itching, burning, or dryness. Please help!!! This is very painful!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Medical conditions like styes, infected tear ducts, and blepharitis can all cause pain around the corner of the eye or other areas. Yes, it can be conjunctivitis too. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an Eye specialist. You will be accordingly treated. In the meantime, do not touch your eyes with your dirty fingers. Wash from time to time with normal water.

You can apply 2-3 drops on the affected eye of I tone eye drops or Ciplox eye drops for relief. You can also take acetaminophen, one stat after food to get relieve from inflammation, pain and discomfort. Keep your eyes at rest, do not read, avoid looking at mobile or laptop till your symptoms have reduced.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
