Suggest Treatment For Pain In Foot Tendons Caused By Levofloxacin
Hi few days ago my doc advised me Levofloxacin (250mg 1+1) with other drugs to stop extreme cough.. I was taking levofloxacin and it gave me pain in my foot tendons, after 4 days I stopped taking it coz I read online that it maybe caused by levofloxacin,, now what should I do? I am taking painkiller (Paracetamol BP 650 mg+Orphenadrine Citrate BP 50 mg ) But still theres pain, what should I do now, Help??
Based on the history you seem to have developed Levofloxacin induced tendonitis (injury to the tendons of the ankle/feet). I would suggest you to take rest at home, apply ice over the affected area, take over the counter pain killers like ibuprofen or aceclofenac. Stop exercising the affected area. Since healing process is very slow in the tendons so, it may take 3-6 weeks to recover from the pain. Consult your treating doctor for an alternate effective medication to treat respiratory tract infection and avoid taking levofloxacin and other related antibiotics in the future.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
