Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 52yo male-----in the last couple of weeks , I have had a hurting in my butt hole----It hurts about a inch up inside---I have not had any problems using the bathroom, I have not had any injury of any kind. I can not think of anything I have done to cause any type of damage. What could be causing this pain ??
What you are experiencing in absence of organic problems, is called proctalgia. However, first, I advise to run colonoscopy to exclude rectal organic problems.
In case no problem is found, then, proctalgia fugax or levator ani syndrome are to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, I advise to: - use acetaminophen to ease the pain - warm bathing
Hope it was of help!
