Suggest Treatment For Pain In Knee Cap

I am a 60 year old woman out power walking. After 30 min I experienced a severe pain at the side of my knee cap,which is sore to touch.After two weeks of pain when walking it doesn't seem to be getting any better.I have no swelling and the knee looks normal.Please advise
