Suggest Treatment For Pain In Knee

I have pain in the back of my knee. I am 19 and do cheerleading so I dont know if i should see a doctor. It is painful to walk and put pressure on it. When I bend my knee it is a very sharp pain in the back/middle of my knee. Is this anything serious or should I just stay off of it for a while?
