Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am experiencing pain in my lower abdomen area, both sides, front. My symptoms are: pain when walking fast or attempting to run (I play softball in a senior league.) I cannot complete even one sit-up.It seems that messages from the brain are not connecting with the muscles of my abdomen. I feel fine when sitting, lying down or walking at a normal pace. My doctor recently prescribed a CAT Scan. The diagnosis came back diverticulosis and not diverticulitis. I am not experiencing any problem with vomiting or problem with my bowels. To me, a non-medical professional, it seems like a hernia. What should I do?
Eat a diet rich in fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables. Keep well hydrated. Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol. You can take Buscopan tablet once a day during muscle spasms for relief. Consult your Gastroenterologist for proper diagnosis of bleeding or obstruction if you are in too much pain.
