Suggest Treatment For Pain In Shoulder Blade And Numbness In Arm

I have gone to the doctors twice for pain in my left should blade and numbness down my left arm to my ring finger and left leg. Both have told me that its a pinched nerve. I got an xray and it said I had muscle spasms in my neck. I got a good reading on my cholesteral high 49 and low was 152. I have also reeived 2 ekg s in the past 6 months. both came back good. So I am keeping track of when I get these pains. I noticed that I can drink water in the mornig and get this pain in my left side. If I have a little salt on my hard boiled egg that goes to a strange feeling in my groin and numbs my left leg. I have been drinking a sugarfree energy called Go Girl for years and my doctor said it was ok if I only have one and I have been noticing the same paid with this right after I take a drink. There is so many things this could be, I just want to feel better can you help.

Hello,

You have pain in the shoulder blade and numbness in the arm. Sometimes, you get pain on your left leg also. Your blood reports taken 6 months ago were normal. Commonly left shoulder numbness occurs due to injury, compression or irritation of the axillary nerve. But can also result due to injury, compression or irritation of the other nerves in that area.

Shoulder blade pain can be a symptom of heart problems. Check your blood pressure. Low diastolic blood pressure may be indicative of ischemia, a condition when there is insufficient blood flow and oxygen to your coronary arteries & hence the symptoms that you are experiencing.

It can be due to age or when the elasticity of the arteries is affected. Restrict your salt intake, avoid taking salty snacks. Do not take excess salt, your symptoms will reduce. Take food cooked in olive oil and avoid refined flour, trans fat, full fat dairy products, etc. In case of CAD, coronary artery disease, discomfort associated with heart disease can also be in the upper chest, throat, jaw, left shoulder or arm, or abdomen and may be accompanied by nausea.

You should visit ER and get clinically examined in case such symptoms arise. Do not neglect. You have been taking pre workout drink called Go Girl for years. In pre workout drinks there are certain ingredients that may affect your lifestyle and health like some contain beta alanine and niacin (vitamin B3). Beta alanine reduces acidity in your muscles during exercise and helps to sustain workout for a slightly longer.

But this ingredient may cause paresthesia, a tingling sensation in your hands and feet. It may cause you discomfort. You can gradually taper the pre workout drink you have been taking and check out the result. Your symptoms should reduce. Control your blood sugar level, as it may trigger neuropathy. Get Nerve conduction velocity tests done to assess any damage to your nerves.

Get repeat Lipid profile done to check your heart health. You can take pain relieving medications for relieve and get connected with a physical therapist to do stretch exercises and for massage therapy. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

Please let me tell you in beginning only that your pains could not be related with various drinks you had. It seems to be a neurogenic pain caused by pressure on the nerves supplying the affected parts.

The pressure can be at cervical spine / cervical rib causing pain in shoulder blade, hand and finger. Similarly pain in leg can be with lumber spondylitis. You need X-ray / MRI of both the spines for specific diagnosis. You need consultation of a spinal surgeon.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
