Suggest Treatment For Pain In Shoulder Blade

I have a bad pain in my left shoulder blade and it is preventing me from laying down. the pain sometimes extends under my arm to my chest. But mostly it is on my left shoulder blade... it has been hurting for over a week. the doctor gave me muscle relaxers but nothing worked. it feels like a pinpoint of pain and if you feel around the area with your thumb, there is a spot that hurts to the touch...
