I have had a fever for 1 week and painful spot on my neck. My ENT diagnosed thyroid nodules with an ultrasound. I have had the biopsy and am awaiting results. My doctors have ruled out UTI and kidney issues as cause of the fever. I am seeing an endocrinologist in a few days. However, the most uncomfortable part of this is a recurring stabbing pain in my right temple(the same side as nodules). The pain occurs about every 1-3 minutes. Motrin doesn t help. I am getting very despondant.
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query. The pain in the temporal region can be secondary to myofacial pain syndrome or it can be a protective cocontraction of temporalis muscle secondary to disc displacement in the temporomandibular joint. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take an analgesic with muscle relaxant like ibuprofen and chlorzoxazone(if you are not allergic) I hope my answer will help you, take care.
