Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Arches And Foot Cramps

Why can I not straighten my feet and toes out without getting arch of the foot cramps. While kneeling, for example, if I point my toes backwards away from my knees I will always get cramping of the arches and have to immediately put my toes back underneath my kneeling position. Same goes when in bed, and I straighten my toes towards the foot of the bed.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to muscle sprain.

For pain, you can take tablet acetaminophen. Apply diclofenac gel or ointment locally. Heating pads will also help.

Along with that use proper well-fitted shoes.

In case of swelling, you may require X-ray of the foot after orthopedician consultation.

Do regular physical therapy. Use support while walking.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale
