Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Back While Having Scoliosis
I have known I ve had scoliosis since I was 20. I have a shoulder quite a bit lower than the other and it is also noticeable on my back. As I age, now 57, I am starting to have a lot of pain at night, when I rollover, and when I get out of bed. Some days I ache all day, some days more than others. Recently I have a constant sensation in my back of it being sore. It runs along my spine and I feel it when I sit back or push up with my arms or down with my hands and if I twist. It almost feels as if something is rubbing underneath my skin near my spine. I have stayed active and do quite a bit of muscle work and cardio but it s getting more difficult. Should I be checked further. I had an xray earlier this year and some physical therapy.

Hello, It may be due to scoliosis. For further assessment you may require MRI back with whole spine screening after spine surgeon consultation. You may require surgical intervention after surgeon consultation. For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen. Use support while walking. Avoid strenuous activity and forward bending. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shyam Kale Family and general physician
