Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Buttock And Hip Area

I have been having pain that shoots up into my buttock and hip area on my right side for several weeks that came on very suddenly. Sometimes it hurts so bad that it causes me to almost fall because it seems to want to suddenly collapse. This is not happening constantly and sometimes I don t feel it at all. I m 67 and have always been very active with exercising, walking, aerobics, step classes, etc. Have not sought any medical help at this time as was not sure what i should do. Thanks for any suggestions you can offer.
