Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Buttock Post Fall

I fell in the bathtub back in Oct, now Feb. There was a huge bruise on my hip. For the first few weeks, I rested, applied ice, soaked it and mild stretching. The past month I ve done much more with walking, seated yoga, water tai chi and it still hurts all the time. I m thinking of getting a cortisone shot, don t know what else to do. The doctor just said it would take time???

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.

If the pain persist for so long then it would be good to do xrays or MRI scan of the lumbar spine and sacral area to see of there is a fracture or some more serious conditions such as spinal cord compression. Steroids may just be a temporary solution. You need stronger opiod analgetics if pain cant be controlled on usual ways.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
