Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 73 and have pain in my left buttock which is not improving. I have been walking 3 mi several times a week which really feels good at the time. I have had this happen in the past but a couple days of Advil and I it when away. This seems to linger. It is not a sharp apon but an achy feeling.
Hold the hot or cold pack to the affected area for about 15 minutes at a time. Do gentle stretches of your legs, hips, and buttocks. Rest to give the injury time to heal. Take over-the-counter pain relievers, such as naproxen (Aleve) or ibuprofen (Advil).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Monish De, Oncologist
