Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
HI, I have pain in my outer elbow. I wake up and it hurts really bad and when I put on an elbow brace it helps a bit. the pain radiates up my arm a few inches from my elbow and also a bit on the inside of my elbow. It also hurts down my lower arm. I have a hard time holding a coffee cup and at times when I turn certain ways with my wrist it can cause it to get worse, but not always. It hurts to touch and is a burning pain, It has been going on for about 2 months. Is this tennis elbow? What else can I do to help heal it. Many mornings I wake up and in a lot of pain.
Hello, I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
The symptoms seem to be related to a pinched nerve in the wrist. I suggest to use anti inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day. I also suggest to use a brace to maintain the wrist immobilised. Cold compresses can also be helpful. If the symptoms continue, I suggest to do an xray of the wrist for further evaluation.
Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.
Kind regards! Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi General &Family Physician
