I have pain in my left foot. It s on the inside of the ankle not the outer ankle. It s very very tender to the touch it s swollen but there s no bruising I haven t injured myself recently or had any trauma. Does this warrant a trip to an urgent care facility?

Hi.
I've gone through your query. I can understand your anxiety.

Your symptoms might be due to bursitis or sprain etc. I advice you to,
- Take Analgesics (Acetaminophen or ibuprofen ) twice & tab. Seropeptidase thrice daily
- Also any antacid along with each dose
- Bed rest & don't overstrain the affected foot
- Ice pack to relieved of pain & swelling
- Elevate the foot end of left leg.
- Check Xray of left leg with foot if swelling not resolving

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Get well soon.
Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician
