Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had intermittent pain on the inside of my left leg by the knee. Went to an orthopedic doctor years ago and he did not find anything. Had an ultrasound. Everything looked normal. In the last year, I have also had pain just below the left knee, left groin, and left hip. Waking me up at night. Sometimes very sharp pain. Last summer went to a chiropractor. X-ray showed my left hip is about 0.5 inches higher than right hip. When standing, I put more weight on my right leg than left. Had 10 chiropractic adjustments but no relief. Seems like my left leg turns out a little. Pain is getting worse.Brian Dubis
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in the left knee . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like Chondromalacia, Bursitis, Patellar Tendonitis, Arthritis, Osteochondritis, Ton Meniscus . I would suggest you to consult an Orthopedic surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray, CT Scan , blood tests, Electromyogram etc as per suspected cause can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly. You should take anti-inflammatory painkillers, muscle relaxants, warm or cool compresses depending upon the cause, physiotherapy to relieve and strengthen the muscles, weight loss and avoiding vigorous workout and long hours of continuous standing or sitting. Sometimes doctor may recommend stretching exercises .In severe cases doctor may recommend surgery .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
