Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Left Temple Area

My wife has had pain on her left temple area. She also has had a filling removed and replaced on the left side of her mouth. Now she has pink blotches next to her scalp, about 7 or 8 and only on her left side. Went to her dentist who had removed and replaced the filling and he took multiple X-rays and could not determine any cause. Any suggestions? Any questions? What do you think?

Hi,

As per your complain pain in temple area along with red blotches seems to be due to allergic reaction but allergy to dental materials is very rarely seen and in case if the symptoms persist even after removal and replacement of dental filling then it can be due to some other causes that excludes the dental treatment.

However pain in temple area can be radiating pain from tooth in case if nerve is exposed during filling and filling is placed directly over the nerve. In case if the x ray is not conclusive of dental problem you an once consult a General Physician and get evaluated and a clinical evaluation and investigations as per suspected cause can help. As of now she can take painkillers like Ibuprofen and also do cool compresses over the blotches for relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora
