Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Neck After Injury

I was accidentally punched in the neck this morning. I didn t notice anything until about 3 or 4 hours ago. At that time, the right side of my neck began to hurt when I swallowed. Over time the pain has become worse and now it REALLY hurts to swallow and the discomfort is making me feel like I need to swallow more and more often. It s to the point where I am having to swallow every 10 to 15 seconds or so, which is obviously making the pain even worse. Just not sure if it s just bruising and I should just wait and see if it gets better over a few days or how to handle it. Side note - Ice is not helping the pain.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it could be due to minor contusions.

As of now you can use analgesics/anti inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persists better to consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
