Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Rectal And Tailbone Area

I ve had rectal pain. It hurts to my tailbone. Feel like I can poop a cantaloupe & all that comes out is mucus. My bowel movement was purple the other day & I ate nothing like beets or berries. Going to see my GI tomorrow. I have Hep C & have had IBS in the past.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to sacral bone inflammation.

For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen.

For further assessment you may require MRI back after spine surgeon consultation.

Further treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition.

Avoid long sitting job

Hope I have answered your query...
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr Shyam kale
