Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Ribs And Difficulty In Breathing

My daughter said when she inhales through her nose, her lungs feel like they are expanding. At a certain point, it feels like a needle is stabbing in her lungs, then her lungs explode. It starts on the left and moves to the right/under ribs. She had an EKG late December, which came back clear. The Dr thought it was asthma and gave her a puffer. She said that is not helping her. She has experienced it for the past four hours.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to health care magic....

Your daughter has done ekg which is normal... So cardiac cause less likely...

Auscultation of her should be done first to guide for further investigation like. .....
-chest x ray
-pulmonary function test to rule out asthma or COPD like condition...
-Echo if needed etc....

According to cause further treatment can be given....

Take care

Advise : pulmonologist consultation for further examination and work up
