Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Ribs

Hello Dr. I have a dull persistent pain underneath my left rib cage. Not off to the side, but a little more centralized. It hurts to push on it. It may be of interest that I have lupus, a muscle disease, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and some heart issues. I am taken care of by multiple doctors. This is a new symptom. Oh, I also have IBS. I just don t know what organ could be in that area. I am a 58 year old female. Thanks for considering my question. Yours truly lovelily

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hi,

By your history and description, the possibility of costochondritis is more likely. Apply warm water pad on affected areas of the chest. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise. Take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs like Ibuprofen and Thiocolchicoside.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

Regards,
Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar, Pulmonologist
