Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Shin And Legs

I have been feeling pain in my shin, on the front of my leg, just above where a short pair of socks would sit. I have been working on my feet in the ice and snow for the past few weeks, and I think that by using different muscles than my legs/ankles are used to using. What could be the problem?
