Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Upper Abdomen While On Tums

Thank you. I have a pain in my upper abdomen that radiates to my back and right breast. This started early Friday morning, when I woke up with the pain. I then vomited ( single time). I have been taking Tums but it doesn t help. Food doesn t seem to make it better or worse.

Hi,

Pain On the right side may be because of stomach problems howe'ver if has no relation to food, and TUMS has not worked it's unlikely to be stomach problems, it may be a muscle stretch especially if increases with body postures.

I would suggest you should take some over the counter painkillers like Ibuprofen for a few days.

If the pain is colicky or associated with nausea and vomiting, then an ultrasound is needed to look for gallbladder problem like Gall Stone etc.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
