I have been have severe \pain in my upper abdomen and middle upper back. I went to the doctor and he diagnosed me with obstipation and did some blood work, My liver enzymes were 320 and 188. He had me come in for more blood work. They pain was worse than ever today. I called for my lab results and he said that my liver enzymes looked better but I am still having pain. What could this be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Constipation, pain in abdomen with elevated liver enzymes are suggestive of liver pathology as hepatitis or else.

* The basic pain management is antispasmodic medication as dicyclomine with Paracetamol or drotaverine; bulk-forming laxatives as Ispaghula husk or Psyllium husk, but the root cause evaluation with an ultrasound of the abdomen & pelvis with or without CT scan can be of great clinical significance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
