Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Upper Arms Throughout The Night
Pain located primarily in both upper arms throughout the night especially when I lay down. Started about two months ago. Not made better by using myoflex, icy hot, or Advil. Sometimes pain moves down my arm and even into my hand and fingers. Other times the pain maybe in upper shoulder and travels to my upper arm. Not bothered by it during the day when I am upright. Pain keeps me awake at night . Started new prescription drug for Crestor, which is the generic for Crestor called Roustatin (sp) 40 Milligrams.
It seems to be due to cervical spondylosis or nerve compression in neck for the nerves supplying upper limb. I suggest you to have X-ray cervical spine as well as neurological examination of upper limb. Meanwhile nerve pain suppressants like gabapentin may be helpful. Neurologist or neurosurgeon review may be needed.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
