Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Upper Quadrant

Last night I had constant pain on the upper right quadrant below the diaphragm. No other symptoms. Slept fitfully unless I was on my left side with a pillow between my legs. This morning pain has subsided but I can still feel achiness where it was. Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The area you are describing, primarily is the seat of liver and gall bladder. Therefore any pathology of these organs is to be ruled out. Therefore, an ultrasound is the first step to rule out disorders of these two organs particularly Fatty Liver as well as cholylithiasis and/or cholecystitis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
