Suggest Treatment For Pain In Vein After An I/v Insertion

hi. I got iv drip around 4 years ago. and since then after every 4 / 5 months i start having pain in my hand .. the pain feels in the vein where iv drip was inserted. the pain is quite severe that i cant move my hand freely. What should i do about it? will it cause any parmanent damage to my hnand?

IV cannulas usually cause thrombophlebitis or inflammation of the veins but the symptoms usually dont last this long. It could be affliction of the nerves in that area. Are you having any numbness, tingling sensation or current like pain when a specific point touches somewhere? If yes them you can get a nerve conduction test of the affected limb and let us know.
