Suggest Treatment For Pain On Right Ankle

Hi my right ankle has been paining me for weeks.I had an operation on my right bum. It sort of healed up. The pain was in my right leg now it's moved down to my ankle. I can't put pruture on it when I walk it hurt, what can I do? I normally have the hot water bottle on it. Can I do more?
