General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Persistent pain at inguinal region after hernia repair surgery can be due to underlying nerve irritation of inferior hypogastric or inguinal nerve through the laparoscopic or open surgical procedure. In my clinic, I do recommend an MRI of the inguinal region for finding the precise cause of the pain via tissue architecture evaluation and further guidelines as per the diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
